3 Movies for a Family Movie Night

Wholesome picks the whole family can gather around.

Nothing pulls a family closer than popcorn, a dimmed living room, and a film everyone can enjoy together. Here are three picks from our library worth the evening.

Each of these carries a Heavenly or Blessed rating, meaning the whole household can watch without a second thought. Tap any title below to see the full analysis and discussion guide.

1. The Princess Bride -- A timeless tale of true love, sacrifice, and courage. The humor holds up for adults while the adventure captivates kids. Mild sword fighting and one or two intense scenes, but nothing that crosses the line for most families. Perfect for kids 8 and up.

2. Paddington -- Kind-hearted, warm, and genuinely funny. Paddington sees the best in everyone, even when the world does not return the favor. It is a masterclass in how to treat strangers with grace. Safe and delightful for all ages.

3. Inside Out -- Pixar at its most thoughtful. The film gives children a vocabulary for emotions they already feel but cannot name. It is one of the best conversation starters about feelings, sadness, and why it is okay to not be okay. Wonderful for families with kids six and up.

Making the most of movie night.

Pick one title, turn the phones off, and watch it together. After the credits, ask one question from the Threshold Discussion Guide. You do not need to make it a lesson. Just make it shared. That is what makes it a family night and not just a movie.
